Deleting and reinstalling did not help either. Is there a way to reset the configuration of the game? It seems it kept my changes after reinstalling.
Nvidia GTX 460 with 310.90 drivers.
It worked until yesterdays update. After that, I couldn't start it anymore. I had set it to windowed mode, maybe it works in fullscreen, but I don't know how to reset this since the game won't start.
Intel have discontinued drivers for Windows 8 and the only driver that windows 8 will let you install is WDDM 1.1 which only supports OpenGL 1.1. The most up-to-date driver for Windows 7 supports OpenGL 2.1. On an Intel forum ( https://communities.intel.com/message/171099 ) I've read that people are outraged with this as they are unable to play Minecraft since installing Windows 8. So I came to the conclusion that this may be the same problem for Fieldrunners 2.
What you need to do is force the Windows 7 driver onto Windows 8 by Disabling driver enforcement, editing one of the .inf files in the driver package and force Windows to install unsigned drivers. This is quite a complicated process for a novice user. But the guide I used worked: -

Please read the comments below as there maybe solutions there if it does not work for you.
I understand that this is not the best fix as it is not easy to apply. I have no idea if Intel are going to buck-up and update their drivers for Intel chipsets for Windows 8 in the future.
Best of luck
