and because english is not the only existing language in the world.
I've ever say it were a requirement I just ask if it is possible to add other languages.
Since Home is a lesser-known indie title with only one person actively supporting it, I doubt the resources could be garnered to create a proper French translation (or any other language). I think all games should at least have English, Spanish and French as standard languages, though, since they're the three most spoken languages in the Western world and all have the same root language (Latin).
More available language = more sales for the developper game so it's all good for him too
French isnt more spoken than german ;) for example dutch is really familiar to german, if you're able to understand every german dialect, you're also able to understand dutch and english.
English, French and German arent Latin, their Germanic. We just use Latin letters, but there are no relations between german french and english (germanic) words on the one side, and espanol and italian on the other side (Latin).
The most widely spoken Germanic languages are English and German, with approximately 300–400 million native English speakers and over 100 million native German speakers.

A proper translation could be less effort than fixing bugs.
The only problems may be on how the game engine is build up, if its that easy to add multilanguage support, or even if its nearly impossible... plus
I know I'm a little late, but this disturbs me, so I have to say it: french isn't a Germanic language, it's a Romance language, same as italian, spanish etc. ;)
