Crashes when you hit MAKE

Ok so started it up, got the option to "Play/Make", clicked on Make to see what I could do and what was available and than it crashes back to Steam.
Any work arounds?

Have you tried letting Steam check the files?
Right click GameMaker in your library, go to properties and then to local files, finally click the button for checking the installation.
