Loved the game! Finished GB and TFOL today! (spoilers)
All right, so I finally finised Gravity Bone and Thirty Flights of Loving after a lot of tinkering with settings to make sure it doesn't freeze on me.

^_^ I loved it! While some people here didn't like the games much because of the short length and other stuff (indie design, non-linear storytelling), I'll be the minority here and say it was one of the best 15-20 minutes I ever spent on any games.

Gravity Bone was the first one I played. I was just going through the first level without noticing anything. Just give the guy a drink and leave. The second level was like that too.. take pictures of birds, etc. Then I get the photos, and press that eleveator button. Then all of a sudden... I got shot! And it turns out to be the smoking gal. O_O It totally blew my mind and the next few minutes really just blew me off. How'd? What the? Amazing!

Thirty Flights of Loving was next, and wow... just wow. The way the story is told... it kept me on my seat. All the scenes are scattered but it really makes you wonder a lot of things: what was the heist about? Why was the girl from Gravity Bone in the wedding? How did it go wrong? TFOL blew my mind like GB.

I'm a lover for weird games these days so I don't regret paying abover average from the Humble Weekly Sale to get this game. Some people will disagree with me but hey, that's just me. I just love it :)

What made the way the story was told stand out?

I'm asking you this, because people that love games are much more willing to see the negatives, than people who hate them acknowledging the positives. As such, you will not have an actual debate, or even, conversation, with most of the people on this forum. If a game "sucks," that's the final word. You won't get through to those people with anything.

In Gravity Bone, the way the story takes the twist when you get shot stood out for me because it just lets you do the two contracts without ever giving you the hint if something goes wrong. In the second contract, I didn't expect I'd get shot and the more I didn't expect I'd have to do some kind of chase. Gravity Bone's last few minutes stood out for me because it just surprises you when you least expect it.

In the case of TFOL, the story stood out for me 'cuz the way it's scattered forces you to find out how it all went down. It also keeps your interest because you want to know more about what happens then when you see The End, it just messes with your mind. I like how the story is told that way.

Well, it's cool. If people says it sucks, well, then it sucks for them. I just wanted to say I like the game. I didn't intend for something where I want to change people's thoughts or anything. I wasn't even going to make a debate. I've been through that kind of situation so I know what you mean dood.

The negatives I will say are the games are too short, the controls could have been polished a bit, it takes a while for it to play without freezing (had me done a lot of tinkering) and the story, while I did love, never gives you a resolve. Still, I liked it.

Like I said, I don't intend to change people's minds here. I only put this discussion up 'cuz I loved the game, despite the negatives.
