More points for being stealthy?

Hey guys, just started playing this game and its pretty sweet. Question though: do you get more points for doing a stealth playthrough and not killing or for going all out and killing every enemy?

You get a good score bonus if you get no enemies alerted(spot you), and a great score bonus if you dont kill anyone.

It's easier if you unlock some special armors that help with different playstyles.

Every alert is a direct score penalty, on top of making a dangerous situation. If you alert someone, you might as well go back to the last checkpoint.
