The game does not start (Black screen)

I start the game, there come the cinematics, music plays and i see black screen with a cursor which i can move and thats all. It doesnt go past this one. I dont know what to do, bought the game and it doesnt work

Go to game properties and change language. It helped me. This is of course publisher's fault.

Because publisher messed up. They tested and provided valid config files for only one language. You select another - game won't start.
Steam will say "It's publisher's problems, we only give what they gave us", publisher will say "We gave them version with one language and we don't support others, it's steam fault"

What does your comp say at reboot why it crashed?

I have the same problem as svxx. Switching to Russian makes the menu work, but now everything is in Russian? :(

Have you bought the game from russian retailers for 11 $ ? If yes then thats your last resort

Sound is in english. Only subs and menu is russian. Upper menu item is new game and right below it is Continue. That's all you need.

mine does exactly the same with crashing during the campaign video. proper gutted as i really wanted to play this game and looks like developer and steam just wana point fingers and not fix the problem. ppl shouldnt have to play in another language to get something they have paid for to work

I have found a simple solution for black screen problem.
In my case I have a Russian retail version of the game and you can play game in Russian (menus and subtitles only) or English (shows black screen).
Steps to fix:

• Select Russian language
  
• Go to steamapps\common\Transformers Fall of Cybertron\TransGame and make a copy of Localization folder
  
• Select English language
  
• Restore Localization folder
  
• Start the game and enjoy!

It doesn't work with dual screen. I had black screen aswell, but then i disconnected my TV display in windows display config.

Edit: Just to be clear i bought it from russia for ~10$ and it has english. So language isn't a problem here.
