Windows 8 crashing.
I'm running the Windows 8 Release Preview and the game crashes when I kill a bunch of enemies at the same time with the flamethrower and occasionally a big enemy with a shotgun. Does anyone know of a fix?

Same here. Within 10 minutes I crashed like 5 times. A solution would be nice. Really forward to playing this game.

It's a new and unsupproted OS, I would think this to be a common problem, you'll just have to wait for the OS to launch fully so it becomes supported or switch back to a older one.

Getting the same issue. Does switching OS involve wiping your PC first? 8 came with my laptop and I've been itching to get rid of it since.

Pretty much - you have to format your drive/partition to "downgrade" to an older version of Windows.

Crashes for me as well.. I have tried deleting save data and reinstalling the game, none of these have fixed the issue. Let's hope they release an update soon fixing this.

EDIT: Fixed it by setting the game to run under Windows XP (Service Pack 3) compatibility mode.

EDIT2: Still crashes when I use flamethrower though..

Here is a solution:
Switch from 24bit 96kHz to 16bit 48kHz in your sound output device.

It still crashes after I tried that.

I'm on a russian OS, so I can't make screenshots in english
but here it is: http://cs417226.userapi.com/v417226787/126d/o6JKZ0l31Og.jpg
It should work... Anyway it works perfectly for me.
Maybe you have to try 16bit/44100Hz ?

As I have said before, it does not work for me. I do not see why changing the audio format would even fix anything.

It's a commen fix that usually helps with compatability issues. You would do that to help fix BF3 (When it was in alpha before they patched).

Although I have followed all the common fixes, it still crashes. I wish that the dev would update/provide some help for this problem.
I get a crash on the full version, Windows 8 Professional. It seems to crash when a giant mob touches me on the first level

It crashes for me too, but I haven't seen a pattern so I don't know why it happens... I really wish I could play this game properly...

Crashes for me too. When I use the flamethrower. Tried all the different compatibility modes. doesn't make a difference. :(
