How do I enable controller support?

I am pretty sure i've played this game with a controller before with PS3 controller+MotionInJoy. Now Im using an Xbox360 wired controller and the game does not recognize it. In options it is completely grayed out (darkened) and the game does not respond to it. My controller works for my other games no problem. Is there something I can do in xml maybe to enable it?

Same here. Linux Elementary OS. Gamepad works on other games

It's strange that sometimes when I try to play it the controller works like it should. Other times not at all.
