FTL freezes my whole computer up, forcing a restart

I'm flying along, checking out stores, fighting ships, generally doing nothing too nasty (AE on and no mods)...

... and FTL freezes. Not only does FTL freeze, my speakers also freeze, my cursor freezes, and in fact my whole computer freezes.

I've let it run for about 30min and it's still been there frozen. This forces a manual restart, by holding the power button down. Which is generally not a good thing to do.

Is my computer a maniac freak - it meets the system requirements (16GB RAM, 2.7 gHz but no gfx card - integrated graphics for the win, huzzah!), I don't think it's overheating...

Once I restart my computer and load the autosave I can do exactly what I was doing without any problems at all - no repeated freeze or anything.


... does anyone have a foggy clue as to what to do?

The game just froze... force shut down my computer.... restarted computer, Steam, and FTL, and voila - it was fine.

It's frozen-crashed twice in about 200 hrs.

It's not FTL. Your OS (win 10?) or drivers have changed.

I mean you cn always try the DPI trick (find FTLGame.exe, right click, properties, compatibility, check anything that looks interesting)

It still isn't FTL that has changed. Just reinstall your OS fresh and it'll start working again.
