thanks. I thought refunds on Steam were a myth. Good to see that i was wrong.
Well I'm from the Doom days, I'm used to arrow keys and all the buttons. I prefer to play this way... The W,A,S,D keys give me the cramps, I've tried they don't feel natural.
As for changing to W,A,S,D.... I can't those keys give me cramp (like a lot of other people in forums). You can't teach an old dog new tricks so using W,A,S,D - NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!
.I also preffer arrow keys and i have all i need around me where the arrow keys are
you just gotta use a good keyboard and i also have side buttons on my mouse that can be programmet as keys.
Sad to hear it wont be fixed :-(
Yes, just shows you what 'these' type of games companies are really bothered about.... your money! - They don't really care about consumers.
I remember playing wolfenstien and doom and more or less quake (loooove quake)
also descent, and your comment about still using arrow keys is interesting to me.
looking back it makes me laugh that in the old days, it was right hand move left hand shoot now it's right hand shoot left hand move.
I kind of wonder what made the change well.
adding 3D i guess and looking around gave a reason to use the mouse because with doom and wolfenstien i remember, you never used the mouse, which is odd.
I wasnt a huge gamer back then so when i went from playing descent with d-pad and, whatever i sued to look around and stuff, to playing counter strike with mouse and WASD, it wasn't a huge leap for me.
i dont want to say i dont agree with you with the unnatural but i feel wasd isn't that much different to me the W is only slightly off to the side from the top arrow key.
anyway i do agree, any PC game that doesnt give full rebinding options is annoying, although i generally stick to the defaults pretty closely, (except for TS:FP but that's another story, from a halo fanboy >_> dont judge.)
like even though the fallout games and the oblivion games were virtually the same, a couple buttons were mixmatched and when i tried to match the third person view and draw weapon butttons so they'd match it threw me off oddly enough so i left them different, weird i know.
What a pleasent reply, thanks for that. I've been gaming over 30 years and I'm used to the arrow key set-up. I have tried the normal W,A,S,D position, but it feels unatural and I get cramps if I try it for too long.
oh you're very welcome.
and ya, creature of habit, i get that sort of thing. *nod*
I never gamed constantly so i never got attached, i was in like third grade when i first played wolfentstien for the first time.
got stuck in a corner and shot to death.
ah, but my real classic love is quake. Best FPS to date. personal opinion yes but one I hold onto very well.
the hardest games for me to play are any flight sims, i got it figured out back when i hardly had any games in middleschool when i played descent, figured out all the controls and had fun,
then i played counterstrike with the mouse and I couldn't go back.
and i couldnt get the mouse to work with descent so.
