the machine walter Created does the same thing they showed happen to the guy who made the machine in the game, not only that but the damage done by both looks the same. its up to a regular guy to save the day in both.
watcht he Pilot of the show and its the same basic idea of this game lol.
Even that, "regular guy save the day" it´s not accurate in none of the cases: One is a Marshall and the other ... well, Ed is not exactly a regular guy trying to save the game, anyone having finished this game should know that by now, there are four people conected to the plot, none of them I will consider regular guys, and they do not exactly save the day, only Detective Bennet is in fact worried about saving the day and he´s not presented as "the main heroe" until veeeeery late in the game.
I believe this short of "look a like" feeling is pretty weak, I mean, with the same argue I culd say that every single love story is the same one since love is the main focus, that every heroe is the same since they pass trough the same tranformation procces in every single book/movie/videogame/TV series/comic or that every 50-70 science fiction distopian future world book is the same since they all carried the same message and the structure goes in a very similar way (one guy confortable with the system suddenly realize is not that much pretty and then he rebels and is chased by the system itself).
IF the game was about Detective Bennet, there was no political or conspirathy sub-plots and our mission was to stop the scientist to activate the machine again, I will consider that both the tv series pilot and the videogame are very similar, but rigth now?? NOT AT ALL, they just share a starting plot point for a completely different story.
