joystick control?

bought the game on a sale. haven't had time to try it before now.
start up the game and the options menu for controls is... lacking, to put it mildly.
only option is wether or not I want to invert controls...
I start up a new game, and get into the initl fight with 3 enemies. I try and control with my joystick and it seems to work ok, albeit I needed to turn on the invert option for a steering to my liking.

I can control the speed with my rudder control, I can steer with my joystick... but why can't I fire anything... hmm.... it turns out, firing is tied to my mouse buttons while control to my joystick?

wtf?

this is not playable, so someone tell me how to be able to actually play with my joystick (I'm using a logitech extreme 3d pro)

Simple solution when playing this game, buy/use a mouse. :)

I played for over two years, a lot of games, just using the Touch Pad on my laptop. I got really good at it and then, someone told me to buy a mouse. I was like, 'A mouse is for desk tops, not laptops.' He said, 'You can use a mouse on your laptop. Just plug it into one of the USB ports.' So, I got a mouse and from that point on, I was hell to be reckoned with in space sims. However, I still prefer a Joystick when it comes to flying planes.

i have an xbox controller and fire is mapped to a, not sure why yours is not working. You can try remapping the controlls before you launch the game by going to the controlls tab.

Just started playing, and everything seems to be mapped to the Xbox controller by default the same way I'd expect a StarFox game to map things. Works great, shame there's no rumble, though.

I do see a Controller Option. I have a Saitek Game pad, woould that work better, ya think?

The launcher did the trick, thanks.

I guess I am too used to be able to set options inside the game itself to have spotted the controller options in the launcher.

i have the same problem, it worked last night only now. not a mouse nor a joystick will respond to the game. its completely unplayable.
