RaceRoom Racing Experience

RaceRoom Racing Experience

Anyone out there experiencing low Frame Rates playing DTM Experience?
My system consists of a Intel i5 2500k (oc to 4400mhz), 8 Gig or Ram, An SSD, MSI GTX780 Lightning also over clocked, Dell 32" 2560x1600. I can play RaceRoom fine at 60+FPS but when I load up DTM, the game is unplayable. 23fps non smooth gameplay. I turned the graphics all the way down to 1280x768, used low graphic settings, and DTM still has frame rates in the mid 20's.

I'm not sure why RaceRoom plays fine and DTM plays at less than half the frame rates. Oh well... All of my other very recent driving games plays flawlessly with room to spare. Not sure what's going on here? My system can play "Crysis" but not DTM experience? Stange

Thanks

Disable FXAA, disable dynamic shadows and try medium cubemaps.
It work for me using ATI Radeon HD 585 1Gb.
but, of course, DTM EXPERIENCE look very HEAVY in comparison of Assetto Corsa or F1 2013 Codemaster...
and do not forget, it use old GMotor2 by ISI... in rFactor i will use all setting in full/high and AA SS 4X , 49 car ingame, dynamic night/day transation... and all in 100FPS FOREVER !!!

OK. Thanks. I didn't know the system requirements were so high. It seems as though you need a Top end card SLI setup to run it at high detail. I never thought that my MSI GTX 780 Lightning wouldn't be enough to play the game at high settings. If a 780 cant do it, what card/setup can? :)

As reflection type use simple cube maps, higher settings are very demanding with 22 cars on track.

Yes i prefer also simple cube maps. And you can disable realtime reflections and set contact shadows to 2.

Set the shader quality to "mid". That should be gain some fps. I cant see any difference at the graphics.

I have an i5 760 @3,52 GHz, 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 670 factory overclocked and with these settings (all others maximized) I get 60/70 FPS (or more) with 22 cars @1080p.

Lausitzring has the lowest fps. That should be the referenz track.

Oh, yes, I didn't race on that track...
Just tested, I get a minimum of 41 FPS with my settings.

I'm going to try Lausitzring again. The track that kills my system is Moscow.

Basically Lausitzring and Moscow Raceway are the most demanding tracks of the game and, maybe a coincidence, the ones created by Wojciech “Feels3″ Kedzierski.

But while Moscow Raceway is still playable on my system with the settings that I use for the other tracks (a minimum of 55 FPS), Lausitzring is really a FPS eater (minimum 40 FPS).

I have i5 3570, SSD setup, 780TI GLH edition from Gainward.
DTM and R3E has the same behavior i have 50-60 fps on 1080p maximum setings on custom setings and HI res 1k shadows . When i disable the 1K shadows my fps are going 20-30% more.

Its not normal your DTM to run in such low fps something is going wrong with you system, maybe the drivers , maybe the setup . but for sure its not normal.

Just for the sake of correctness: The cubemap setting concerns the reflections on the cars surface, not shadows. I use the lowest setting as I think glossy racecars are simply not realistic, but if one prefers it you should avoid using the highest setting. It's really just for testing purposes, very demanding and doesn't give that much of a visual boost.

Lausitzring and Moscow Raceway NEED TO BE OPTIMIZE ! Please SIMBIN, why can I have 400€ of graphics card for 4km of circuit race ? Only for this two tracks ? The other are very light and accurate too ... in this terms, "the 21Km of GREEN HELL" for AC will need a cluster of GPU ????

R3E has much acurate tracks. If you watch Real Life track Like Mount Panorama ,or Portimao , even the trees are in the right position.
Also the lighting and the sky is much better on R3E.
Also the tarmac on R3E has much much much better detail than Asseto Corsa.
You can see the crack from the heat on the road
Also tyre smoke is more acurate on R3E to.

AC has better cockpits, and laser scaned tracks . But you have to know that they laser scan the surface of the tarmac and not the objects on the track.

This is my opinion , and dont forget that i am from Greece, THe people behind AC are Greeks to
so you can understand that normaly i have to say all the good thinks about AC :)
AC has the best physics i have ever try but sorry in track desighn R3E is way better.

I didn't know that Vallelunga (where Kunos has his headquarters) is in Greece... ^_^
