Indeed the majority of R3E players is based in Europe, particularly Germany it seems.
If you want to get in touch with the devs directly I suggest you post on the official forums[forum.sector3studios.com] where you will get a response quickly, Steam forums don't seem to be watched by them as they are pretty dead anyway.
To start with, i highly recommend you the GTR3 and WTCC class. take enough time to test all cars before buying.
20-30 bugs and you should be able to join the most popular mp server
It's actually 2 track Nurb and nords , plus quite a few car from a variety of class.
I personally think it's worth it.
There is no doubt that r3e charges more on content if you are only purchasing from steam. If you want to save buy large vrp pack then purchase when there is sale in the raceroom store and don't by whole pack. Just get the car you want in a class.
It pays to be smart about each purchase.
As other had said, head to the vRP store to buy vRP in bulks so you'll save quite a considerable amount. Since you own the DTM pack, you do have a decent amount of tracks to begin with so from now on, just buy whatever content you like straight from the store. The packs are cheaper so I think go for those are better than buying content individually because the discounts for owned content isnt good. I spend about $80 so far, about the same with pcars and AC heading towards that price, I own probably more than half the content of the game except the newer content.
R3E is a great game, it just the business model that is holding it back. If not, I think it would easily be a popular game due to the interesting content it has.
Back in 2013 when this came out I could not believe this was Simbin .. My favorite dev . I was shocked and swore off the game. Then I picked dtm 2013 on sale and realized how good this actually was. Since simbin became sector 3 the game is leaps ahead of what it was. The early review are still hurting this game.
The game still gets lots of bad reviews. Why, I don't know. Seems to be the downside of f2p. Every douchebag tries out the game, plays for 0,2 hours and writes a negative review like "can't steer, sh*t game". There's lot's of these every week, plus those criticising the sales model (which I at least understand, that's the publisher's own fault)
We are happy we dont get to race with them
I personally think its so good
Dont really race other titles for a while
Raceroom Rocks
Yup, that's pretty much all you can do. It doesn't look like there will be any Steam sales other than Black Friday etc due to the cut Steam takes off the top, from what I've been told.
For those who don't know what I'm taking about.
