Are you running it on full screen? In my case, for some reason, the game crashes quite frequently on full screen, but works just fine in a window.

This is pretty strange, but it *could* be related to the controller support if you guys are in Windows. Check out this: http://offspringfling.com/ReadmeOnline.html#controller Try disabling the controller and see if it still crashes for you.

If you aren't in Windows then I shall require more information to try and track this down! Sorry for the issues :(

Oops, disregard my issue, I had my controller unplugged after switching to window mode... How embarrassing.
Disabling the controller works for me, and I can now fling my offspring in peace.
I still prefer my puzzle games in window mode, so it doesn't really matter in my case. Thank you anyway.
