They Bleed Pixels
Steam first time playing install.
Everytime I open the game steam runs the first time playing install (which to make matters worse, takes a fair chunk of time). I have opened the game many times now and have installed the things everytime and now, it is starting to get annoying and weigh on my enjoyment. If anybody has any adive or help, it would be appreciated! Other than that, this game has been a superb side-scroller with a great combo-and-style focused combat system.

I'm getting this too. I think it keeps trying to install DirectX 9 and failing at some point, but the game still works after that.
Had the same problem, but I just used tikione-steam-cleaner-1.3.0 (google it) and somehow it now skips straight to the game. Might help you guys as well.
I too have been having this issue. The component it keeps saying it needs to install is .NET 4.0 Runtime.

Exactly the same for me.
Go into your gamefolder and rename the following files:

dxwebsetup
dotNetFx40_Client_setup
xnafx40_redist

Steam won't try to install them next time you start the game.
That's basically what I said a few days ago (instead of renaming the files would've been deleted) but no one seems to read ;P

So there is no natural fix for this? No patch? Will messing with the files do anything to Steam or the game file or anything?
Also, why does this happen?
@Voshond Do I just rename the files to anything?

@Insanity_Runner - yeah, just rename the files, there seems to be an issue with user permission levels and not writing to the registry ...
@Voshond Heh...Dont mind me asking but how do i get to my gamefolders? im a computer newb lol.

@sethsheppard - look in your Steam subdirectory, typically here:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common"
there you shuld find a directory called "they bleed pixels". Within this directory sould be three files: xnafx40_redist.msi, dxwebsetup.exe and dotNetFx40_Client_setup.exe.
Rename these and all should be well.

Let me know what happens.
Ok...it skips the first time setup but it doesnt start the game...
SpookyAndrew cmon reply!!!!!!!!
