Works fine, I set mine to 73, which corresponds to a horizontal FoV of 100 for a 16:10 monitor.

And you can confirm it is working and functional? I'd planned to spend a lot of time with this game which would be impossible at a lower fov. I assumed it had to be adjustable if he was toying around with VR support at one point.
Yes, as I said, it works fine. No glitches or artifacts and the field of view is definitely bigger, I tested it (the game saves your exact position when quitting, so you can easily see the difference).
Well, it might be different for you but usually the speed of the mouse look is not the real reason but only a multiplying factor. Usually it's FoV. Try to change that (and also maybe the mouse speed and/or "softening" in the settings in the game).
