Some FACTS about this game's reception on Steam (It is liked in general)
I thought it was worth mentioning these few facts about the games reception on steam.

This game is highly reccommended by people who like it & highly trolled by those who don't.

Since its release CC has gotten over 470 recommendations, more then double any game that game out just before or just after. Some of those games are +\-half the price and some are +\-double the price.

After much reading of these threads I've also noticed the same 10 names come up in nearly every thread trolling this game.

There are more people that have bought and liked this game then bought and hated it.

The game has bugs which the majority of people ignore/live with because they enjoy the game so much.

The people who hate it are much more vocal then the people who reccommend it.

There are more expensive games on steam that where released with just as many bugs but this is the most buggy game released since game hubs existed. (quickest example is Dead Island)

This game costs less then going to the movies does these days.

Those are facts not opinion, I understand people feel strongly about this game one way or another but the reality is this game in general is liked.

I'm not a fanboy, I learned about this game less then a week ago but with my experience in the indi world has shown me that most gamers today expect a lot from indi dev's. This opinion has been formed from beta testing over 20 games that have become very popular when released (as well as some that we're not so popular) and unlike most AAA game companys they have to put up with much less deconstructive criticism and personal insults.

I wish the dev luck and hope that this steam release hasn't hindered his urge to do more in this game, it would be a real shame if the unreasonable people who do the pointless personal insults and so on had an effect on the people who like this game or the game its self.

If you wish to add to this thread please leave out the trolling, it helps noone and frankly makes you look like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ :)

So, if you agree with you, it is recommending. If you disagree with you, it is trolling?

FTL, released 9-14, $10, around 6000 recommendations.

Have you personally polled all the purchasers of this game and asked them if they like it or not?

Have you personally polled all the purchasers of this game and compared how vocal the supporters were compared to those unhappy with this game?

If you haven't done these things then you cannot call these opinions of yours FACTS.

It's cool if you like the game. You can shout it to the world, just like those on the opposite side, but maybe you should rethink what makes up a fact and look back at your post.

My only real complaint about the game is the fact there is no Workshop support :).

I will say that I hated it for the first Hour I played it, then when I started learning what worked for my play style it go so much better.

I don't know how hard that is to implement, but this game's modding community makes this a natural fit. I would guess it happens sooner or later.

Hahaha, Well your name is famillar, youre one of the 10 people i was talking about :)

No i didn't say that, eveyone knows what trolling is so i didnt think i had to define it for you ;)

FTL came out way before the list of games i had checked, i was talking 2 or 3 days, not weeks.

I looked though every single discussion there was at the time, read names and wrote a tally (sounds tasky but it only took about 20 mins) because i wanted to know.

I should of stated the statistics i had developed where basied on the 100+ people i've had communication with or read about in this game hub as well as the Data Realms fourms. But again after reading all the treads on the game hub I can say its a fact in there.

*this is a repost because comments came up while i was writing*

So, exactly what did I say that constitutes trolling?
NIL0S 3 out. 2012 às 14:04
Quoted from TWITTER: Dan Tabár@Data01: "(...) we're still going to polish CC1 and add steam workshop integration etc. Then moving onto our next project (...)"

So i take it Workshop is going to get implemented? Hope the polishing gets adressed properly before moving on to the next project... though... Wouldn't want to rush this last minute :PPP

Personal insults, in a few of your comments you do personal insults to the dev for example.

Hahaha I noticed some people talking about how he's said hes doing a new project, glad steam workshops coming in!

@Evecque: It seems having a critical viewpoint of the game immediately stamps you as a hater/troll.

Another of Dan Tabár@Data01's quotes from TWITTER:

"I haven't yet transcended to being able to love every hater; sometimes i wish i could DISALLOW certain ppl from playing my game :p"

I really do start feeling a LITTLE bit like an idiot for paying money to play the CC beta/alpha/whatever :)

If you say so. That isn't the way I see the situation. As an owner of the game I am not happy with the current condition of the game and also disillusioned about the prospect of the game improving in the hands of the developer. This is based on the development history. I have made no personal insults agains the dev or anybody else here on the forums. I have tried my best to state my opinions in an honest manner for anybody who comes to the forum seeking information about this game. If you want to call that trolling, feel free. It won't change the facts.

I do agree you have been very non bias in most of your comments, but saying things like the Dev was deliberatly ripping people off is a personal insult.

As for that twitter comment, I don't see anything wrong with that, tons of musicians have said something similar as well as many creators of tv shows like drawn together.

I'll try to explain myself, pardon for the sarcasm, its not a very good form of communication. I think nobody is arguing anymore about if CC 1.0 is a complete release or not; the dev himself says everywhere he can it isn't and needs polishing etc, infact, on the CC site it still says it's in alpha. Fact that you have to pay to getting to play this unfinished version, and that the dev would rather "disallow" people that dont "get" his game and rather "hate" on him, means he's not really open for any kind of criticism... i agree there is constructive and destructive criticism, but still, look at your original post mate, you're basically calling everybody who has a gripe with CC a hater/troll...

Yeah, except I never said that.

I got CC at what- $17.99 or somesuch cost on steam with %10 off... Now just thinking about the workshop potential alone- I'd say it's well worth it. I own a lot of games that I paid $50 or $60 for that aren't even half as fun or replayable. And nearly every game has had its share of bugs and learning difficulties.. I still I think I got a pretty good deal for the cost because I like CC.

Shut up and take my money! This game rocks hard if you hang in there!
