Overall: Great for casuals/newcomers, but the higher you go, the more cracks it shows.

Starting off with story, it's pretty nice, and has some moments. But it's still being worked on, so maybe it suddenly changes its course. Usually, you access story elements through playing the game - play charts->unlock story->play more charts - but the later you are in the game, the more puzzle elements appear, and you need to work a bit to access both story, and more charts (most of these are accesible alongside story through "Node Flowchart"). Normally, that'd be pretty annoying - adding puzzles and RPGmaker-esque sections onto my rhythm game and slowing down my visual novel progression? But they aren't that large, and there's a plethora of guides if you don't care.
Song selection is pretty good. You got the classics, of course the Camelias and all, but also lots of just electronic stuff of all types. It's obviously a subjective topic, but if you like rhythm games, there should be some stuff you'll know (or not) and like.

But there are issues. They might get fixed, but many are either core to game, or just have been there for a long while.
Menus are clunky, and there's no mouse available. Massive wasted space in menus, many of which are hella zoomed in, makes it somehow claustrophobic to navigate.
On gameplay side, "bumper notes" exist in indirect opposition with being able to hit many notes with one key press, resulting in any attempt at difficulty through increased note volume pretty meaningless. (Bumper notes spam is usually used instead of two one/one hand single note spam).
Chart quality is all over the place, and if you find one difficult, just try another one - maybe the higher difficulty one will actually be easier.
And one annoying thing, which came in recent update, is charts with effects (think stepmania modded charts) making their way into song select. Whereas previously any obnoxiously unreadable charts could be played without flashbangs/visual distractions/visibility reducing overlays, now some can't. (In past, these effects would only exist outisde of song select). I hope devs revert on this decision, or let it be a toggle.

But all in all, if you got a friend who's not really into rhythm games, or maybe you didn't play rhythm games before - give this one a shot. I think it's a good gateway drug to other rhythm games, and even if though has its issues, it's still an enjoyable experience by itself.
