The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

So how bad is the combat?
I really want to buy this game for the story and all that but if the combat is as bad ashe first I don't know if I can get into it. I'm playing Dark Souls atm too so going from that to something lackluster will be... difficult.

I've heard from several people that he combat is very different from the first game, which is good, but I still don't know if I'll enjoy it. If anyone can make some comparisons to other games that'd be helpful. Thanks.

I find it odd that you ask a loaded question, implying that it is bad to begin with. Many people find the combat enjoyable, but if you want to play Dark Souls then continue playing Dark Souls.
I just put it that way because the main complaint I keep hearing about Witcher 2 is the combat, everything else is usually praise.
the combat is completely different from the first: before, you had to click to do the first attack move and wait and have some timing to do the second; now, you can practically mash the left or right mouse buttons to chain the attacks... it's much much easier and totally not frustrating, in my opinion... the only things you need timing for are counterattacks.

The Witcher 2 has one of the best sword combat you will ever see on pc.
I've never played the First one, But I'm quite enjoying the combat.
Awesome with a gamepad.
I'll put it simple for you. Most that hated the combat from the first absolutely LOVE the combat in the second. And the combat for Witcher 2 is pretty close to that of dark souls you have you strong attacks, your quick attacks you magic attack (signs) your block button and your roll button, Combat is alot more fast paced than the first game. You can parry, riposte and so on, it's very fun, simple to get but hard to master (much like dark souls) also it can get very tactical depending on what difficulty you're playing it on. I enjoyed the combat in the first, though it wasn't perfect it was good but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the combat for the second. It's great.
combat is awsome, just hard.
Not bad but not great. Hope witcher:3 uses slow-mo like F.E.A.R games. Now that would be cool.
slow-motion... it would be cool in the beginning, but after the 100th combat I could hate it. It might be better if it can be switched off.

Have it as a trigger option. Only activates when you press down and hold. Releasing speeds back up.

combat sucks , there is input lag
The combat is more preparation and precision focused.
don't expect fast paced entertaining fights, expect fights where you lay traps, drink potions, and carefully try to take out the enemies without getting hit.
basically combat for survivalist witchers.
