First of all there are about 1000-3000 on at all times. Though of course that dies out around 5 am or so.

Second with the matching system, it's very easy to find a game going to start.

Far from dead, 2000-3000 numbers are a very healthy number when compared to others.

The 70-200 was right, that how it was. It's just booming right now because Markiplier and other youtubers did new videos on it recently and that really got a lot of new players on. It'll slowly die down back to triple then occasionaly double digits. It's never too hard to find games even then and there will be a more balanced proportion of newbs to experienced players.

nope, those numbers are right. The sponsored Youtube videos made by a few "famous" Youtuber add new players to the community but like it did in the past, those numbers will go down again very soon.

I just started playing and the game seems pretty healthy. I had been eyeballing this one for a while and when it went on sale I picked it up. I'm guessing the numbers will die down after a while but with what appears to be a pretty intelligent match making system I can't imagine it will be difficult to find a game in the future.
