Also on the note of uplay, if you redeem the key into the uplay service you can download as often as you want as long as you want. The 30 day thing is because they use digital river as their store front and when your download comes from digital river they have a 30 day window for good to be downloaded. In the case of Ubi/uplay you just add it to your account and can download it whenever.
There's nothing wrong with uPlay. I guess you, as many others, compare it vs Steam. Uplay and origin is nothing like Steam so when people often call uplay and origin lame I just don't get it... Uplay is a service for Ubisoft games. And origin is a service for EA games. And there's nothing wrong with them imo. And if you somehow didnt manage to download your game, dlc or whatever, you can just contact their support and they will open it up for you again. Simple as that.
Lol, I was just joking (sort've), but if do you have an extra copy and willing to donate it for science, I wouldn't mind lol!
