Hanging ledge takedown - how?

I just cannot figure out how to do it! I am on a ledge and the enemy is directly below me:

You hang and when below you, you use right mouse button. BUT only on a gargoyle or something similar in shape like a metal bar.

^ he pretty much said it perfectly. its rare that i find an area to hang people which is sad because its so heart warming to see you enemy hanging...

From the gargoyle it is called "inverted takedown", isn't it? I mean the one from this video (second 30):

Hanging ledge is where your on a ledge with lets say a small fence, so you can do a ledge takedown from someone above you and do a hanging ledge takedown from someone below you. People just got confused with it and inverted takedown.

yep its been in the last 2 games also. But as said you can only do it from specific protruding items on walls, like gargoyles, long metal bars etc

No guys, hanging ledge takedown is different. First, look in the video I posted where Batman chokes the guy. He doesn't do that with inverted takedown or "normal" ledge takedown. I did all off these in this room as you can see by the list on the HUD:

And it did NOT solve my challenge because I was supposed to to the hanging ledge takedown, too. I'm at a loss :(

I don't know how to do this either, tried crouching on and hanging from a guardrail above a goon, but did not get any prompts for a takedown.

Ok guys, I did it. You have to stand BESIDE the ledge/fence, not ON the ledge/fence. The prompt says "silent takedown".

The takedown from the video (30s) is called Inverted choke takedown (not matter if done from the railing or beside). The in-game description for Hanging ledge takedown is misleading. To do Hanging ledge takedown you need to stand on the ledge above the enemy in the same way for that Inverted choke takedown but there can't be any railing. Easy to do in Merchants Bank predator room.

It looked just the same as in the video and in the fight summary was called "hanging ledge takedown". When I did it, there definitely was a railing and I stood beside it, not on it. Now I'm even more confused.
