I'm not saying this game is perfect but I have not experienced any game breaking bugs/glitches yet a lot of people refer to the game as "broken". It's a great game and just as good as Asylum and City.

Edit: In fact, on my rig this game runs smoother than City. City has lots of micro stuterring that was never fixed.

I love this game. Runs fantastic on my 4790K and GTX 970

My only complaint (and it's a big one) is how tedious it is to navigate around the city. Half the buildings don't have grapnel points.

you see i dont seem to have that problem,i presume you do the super grapple and catapult off every vantage point?
I can quite easily get from one suberb to another

I haven't got around to playing this one yet. I loved the first two games but I've heard this is pretty much just a copy/paste of Arkham City but worse. How true is that?

Partially true. Some of the Origins map is replicated from the City map (though with a makeover). And there's not much in the way of innovation, gameplay-wise. On the other hand, boss fights are much better, new characters are introduced, and the story is engaging. Besides, even if it is a cut-and-paste job, at least it's a cut-and-paste job of an awesome game, so...

Combat is clunkier than City, Shift+M2 takedowns sometimes just don't work, riddler challenges aren't nearly as demanding as in City, the famous glide bug still happens 2 years later, some parts of the game let you grapnel and grab onto things but won't let you move left/right or climb up where you should obviously be able to, 'detective mode' gets old very fast, story is great up until about half the game...

It's a decent game, but the reason it's considered not as good is because it added nothing from Arkham City...

It does seem a little more difficult to grapnel around Origins than it does City, but the map in Origins also has much more verticality, and is a little more open, so it's easier to glide and maintain altitude.
Also, there's fast travel in Origins.

The Killing Joke is one of my favorites comic books, and playing through a part of it during this game is incredibly awesome, I loved it (not gonna spoil it). Besides that, the boss fights are better than Asylum (Although Asylum is still my personal favorite out of the 3 first games. Can't talk about Arkham Knight since my potato cant run it), the story is more interesting than City and there are lots of things to do.
It is a great Arkham game, in my opinion

In my opinion, Origins is more fun than City...Gotham looks great

Both are good, play can be clunky I found (on both), using KB & Mouse. The boss fights are mostly tedious and boring, but Origins is bigger, more missions to do and not so strictly tied to the game plot (ie; you have time to go and do your own thing in places).

Most of the hate comes from those who played the game within a month of launch, or completionists. I don't mind researching a game, but this one actively punishes you if you don't research something you had no way of knowing (just do a search for the phrase "Sonic Batarang" for more info about that).

The short version is that WB Montreal are either greedy, lazy, stupid, hateful, or some bizarre mixture of said attributes. Wikipedia says this on the issue:

"...the company received a significant amount of criticism for failing to conduct proper testing on the game prior to release as well as ***refusing to address a number of game-breaking bugs that plagued the title, instead preferring to focus on the development and release of paid DLC***."

(emphasis mine)

So, this is WB Montreal, in a nutshell: "We don't care about the fact the game doesn't work as advertised. Shut up and buy our DLC."

Also:

- The combat is stupid easy after a certain point in the main storyline
- We've gone from 4 DLC characters to 2.5 (Batninja? Cool, I guess. Deathstroke? YAWN.)
- WB Montreal removed the Worst Nightmare suit (instead of *fixing it*)
- The Movie Batman suit (from the Nolanverse) you get for doing something (I forget, and refuse to research) is just a reskin of the main suit - which means that by the time you unlock it, it's battle-damaged. Some people don't care. Some do.
- Azbats was a PS3 Exclusive. In one way, it's like: "So?" - but by the same token: "Who the hell is ever going to actually USE half the crappy skins they DID let us use? Seriously, look at that First Batman suit. SERIOUSLY."
- The challenge/achievement stuff is ONLY doable *ingame* - not in challenge mode. This means that the challenges maps (Predator/Combat) now exist PURELY for the medals they award. It also means that completionists will need to play the game more than they should have to (compared to the other games in the series).
- The storyline 'twist' has ALREADY BEEN USED IN ONE OF THE ARKHAM GAMES. That's *beyond* lazy.

I really could go on and on, but frankly I've already wasted too much time thinking about this travesty of a game.

Hey, the OP ASKED. I'm just answering.

And for the record: I'm glad the OP is enjoying the game, and I hope they continue to have a positive experience with the game.

-Combat is no less easy than previous games.
-Try doing all ranked and campaigns with 4 characters like I did in City; it'll drive you mad.
-That's true
-Minor nitpick.
-All Dark Knight challenges can be done in one run (with a bit of planning).
-What twist do you refer to? Joker has been present in Asylum and City from the start to the end of the game, and its no less lazy than the Arkham Knight identity reveal (won't spoil it, but every fan saw it a mile off). Story is also much better than City's and the boss fights were really well done. Knight doesn't even have any.
