Not understanding the bad revews this game has been given...

I truly don't understand why people have bashed this game so badly?

True voice actors, immersive storyline, open world etc.

It's what you expect from an RPG, it probably encourages me more to like it because I am a fan of Game of Thrones. It would be a lot harder to get into it without some knowledge of Game of Thrones.

This game reminds me a bit of Lord Of The Rings: War In The North. Another fantastic game IMO

One thing I will say is that I would have preffered a chance to be all stabby/slashy with button mashing rather than kind-of turn based attacks but other than that I have no complaints so far!

well if you compare it to something like Skyrim, it's easy to call it garbage. It's a fine game, but the combat isn't the most fun.
The game's graphics seem a bit dated.


I can't imagine the budget to make a game like bioshock infinite, skyrim, borderlands 2. But this game was obviously low budget comparitavely.

Yeah, I was thinking that while playing more of it, but for the small price I paid, I'm quite happy with my purchase.

I just think people need to give these kinda games a go before they make up their mind when the reviews are bad.

If RPG's are your thing, you are going to get something out of this game

Have to agree, I recently picked this up whilst it was on sale the other day and have been playing it pretty much constantly since giving it a try. Sure there are graphical issues with it but I've enjoyed the voice acting so far; the story is gripping and very true to the world in the books; and the combat is entertaining enough, just that bit different to standard button clicking or lining up actions. There's a nice scene with Mors not too far into the game and winning against large odds - I haven't felt like my player character was such a badass for sometime! Yeah there are problems with it, but I don't think it deserved such negative reviews, admittedly I'm not that far into it so maybe it will grate after a while but it's fun so far. If people are on the fence about it, it's worth giving it a try - watch a let's play on youtube and see if it'll get your fancy.

I just don't get that all RPGs are compared to Skyrim. Got Skyrim myself, quite liked it, after modding it so much, that there was not much left of the original ;) Even all the talk about the good graphics in Skyrim... well... as far as I remember Bethesda called textures HD, which where 512 pixels at it's best. Not HD to me.

What I really wanted to say is: In my opinion RPGs are mostly about a good story. When the way, the story is told, is good, I don't mind older graphics. In this case I don't even think so. Okay, it's not high class, but the characters and sourroundings are clearly made with love and I recognize every place and person (okay... Cersei not that much ;))

The combat system... well... guess I'm just old enough to enjoy a little old-school b**chy combat.

And now... back to gaming ;)

This game has a very hooking and inreasting storyline. The combat is simliar to dragon age origins another great RPG, and i feel like the game suits it, instead of skyrims hack'n'slash combat system

Skyrim isn't the best game of all time as people like to think. it's good but not the best.

Anyways, I am enjoying Game of Thrones and I hope people give it a shot at least

Nearly completly agree, just didn't come to think about Dragon Age when in combat, as it isn't really round-based.
And as I'm playing it with a controller now, I don't have any camera angle or whatsoever handling problems, as was mentioned different times in the forum. Nice and smooth to me.

Can't think of any RPG that would be much without it's story.

Putting this story into another world... well, I guess I still would have bought it (as Steam bundle) and enjoyed it. Even though it would have been harder for me to find it.

My first impressions of the game is basically you will enjoy this game "if" you desire more Game of Thonres lore then the show / books can give, and if you have enough time to put into the game as the diologue / cutscenes are very long. The graphics / animations don't take away from you being able to connect with the characters.

If you are one of those people who skip through dialogue, cutscenes, and easily forget the story, then this game will be pretty unexciting.

I have to say I fully agree with the above poster!

I think I enjoy it a lot more as I like the spin off stories from Game of Thrones as much the same as I did with Lord of The Rings War In The North where it focused on the North being held instead of the Fellowship going south.

cmon kids dont kid yourself skyrim IS the best RPG of all time, all these other games are just filler to enjoy while waiting for the next elder scrolls
