Maybe I should wait to play...
Hello I bought this game after "The Completionist" played it and I am thinking of not even playing it. The first and main reason is that I heard some people get BLUE SCREENS because of this game!
The second reason is that it is overly buggy and freezes often.
The third is that I heard that the Menus are HORRIBLE and beyond just bad.

(I don't even have music which does not help in me playing this game.)

Hey Laidbackuser,

Of course, my own opinion is a bit biased ;) but from my own experience in answering people in this forum for the past couple of months, I haven't heard of any blue screen issues (perhaps this was fixed in an early patch). As far as bugs, I would say the main issue was with scanning songs, which should ALL be fixed in the latest beta (please try it out, see the pinned posts for details!).

The only remaining major issue is that the interface could be more user-friendly when you have a huge collection, but that doesn't seem to be your case. ;)

Anyhow, thanks for getting the game. We worked hard to make something people would enjoy, so I would love for you to at least try it out and see for yourself if you like it since you've already got it.

Cheers,

Francois

Thanks for replying!
I might play now!
Well, my last BSOD was last sunday...
Don't misunderstand me, I like the game but these BSOD are really upsetting me. I didn't check but the previous BSOD made my save errased.
Wow; as I mentioned, we haven't heard much about these. Can you try the beta branch and let us know if this helps?

Do you remember if the crashes were happening during song scanning? The latest beta has a 100% rewritten scanning engine which should fix these.

Thank you,
Francois
Maybe you shouldn't play. The game actually seems to be in worse condition after a years worth of developement.
I'll try it when I can and will give you my feedback..
I don't really remember when the crash happened but I don't think it was during the song scan.
Btw, since I bought the game I got around 6 or 7 BSOD !
I don't want that game crash my HD...

Honestly I would chock this up to coincidence, if you are experiencing BSOD outside of the game. There is nothing that installing/playing this game would do to your system that installing any other program would. I would reccommend scanning your system for malware, or see if Windows itself is the cause of its own demise, as it so often is. If it is only inside of the game, I would uninstall the game and then try reinstalling it and running it then.

My system is clean, and it is the only game that produces BSOD.
My music is stored on an external HD, connected through usb so may be is it the reason.

Hello lemouetton,

That's an interesting factor. Can you try putting your music on your local hard drive and let us know how it goes? Also, check out the latest beta (see other forum posts for details). It also features a crash log so we may be able to help out if you can submit it to us.

Thanks!

Francois

I know I have not replied in a while but I think a month after the new update (So the devs can fix bugs.) should be the perfect time to play this game! (It looks fun!)

Wow i must be really lucky...as i have had no issues at all :)
Multihog 13. Jan. 2014 um 13:12
Not a single BSOD for me.
Vonbleak,
Great to hear! Everyone should bear in mind there have been many significant updates in the past few months that should have patched up most known issues. Do post if you run into any further issues!

Cheers,
Francois

Great game btw, Empty Clip! Best music based game in my opinion and I've tried them all (almost) :P

The only thing I would really change is the menu system. The way your weapons are displayed on the songs and stuff. Also it's weird how you can't see how much it costs to upgrade your weapon on the weapon menu o_O
