Well, the upcoming update will be able to keep us entertained for a while, and it will be within the next 22 days. They actually have at least 5 more character ideas already sketched and plenty more, as it was answered by a developer when asked how many they could possibly add if they could.

I believe that they will have enough time from now on to create new characters, as the update they are about to release is really big for an indie company. It does show that they are cappable to provide us with content.

I agree, this game probably does new characters. Personally it doesn't bother me because I find it fun to 1v1 against people and learn about all the matchups and particular players playstyles and whatnot.

I'm not sure about the chainsaws, but you can play Firefall if you want a character with a jetpack and a minigun.

I was indeed born with a minigun arm with chainsaw-bladed digits. I'm working hard on the jet engine but I've recently acquired some vintage WWII propellers and plans to install it on my rear end.
