How do I get my twam to attak the snail they have wepons in hand but left or right click does nothing they just stand there getting bit.

right-clicking the weapon(or even just an empty hand) should do the trick. Read the tutorial again to get the basics down.

Indeed, have you tried right clicking the weapons on your characters hand?
