Antivirus thinks executable is an infiltration
Wanted to play today, steam told me SpeedRunners.exe is missing, when I tryied to download it again, my NOD32 Antivirus informed me, the downloaded file (SpeedRunners.exe) was deleted, because it is a MSIL/Packed.Confuser.N type of infiltration... just informing you, do something with it! I am going to disable the antivirus, If something will happen to my computer, I am holding you responsible, TinyBuild!

just got this too!

Nothing should happen. This happened in a previous update as well iirc. I believe they were just changing the coding to make it safer or run better or something. Anyhow it SHOULD BE a false positive.

I added an exeption for it and it's fine now. It was just a false positive, HOPEFULLY.

Steam NEVER sells viruses, but if more programs on steam are getting deleted by your antivirus. You probably have a virus, one of those that mess up your files.

This is happening with me as well, and I am also using NOD32. Frankly, this antivirus has never betrayed me before, I've seen any people getting false positives on many games while I would get none, so yeah, I am not willing to ignore NOD32's warning.

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\downloading\207140\SpeedRunners.exe a variant of MSIL/Packed.Confuser.N suspicious application
this is the threat

well, Ia am still here, everything is as it should be, so.... ignoring the antivirus is ok in THIS case :SpeedRunner:

I'll try to contact the NOD guys.

The reason NOD32 marks SpeedRunners.exe as suspicious is because we prevent any program (including virus scanners such as NOD32) from inspecting the .exe. If you would write a virus you would probably do the same thing, that's why NOD32 marks it as 'suspicious'.

We prevent inspection to make hacking the game a bit harder, so I'm not really willing to remove that.

For now I suggest to add an exception for SpeedRunners in NOD.

Gerty F-Secure (2013, 12.77) has the same problem with this file if you want to contact them or something. P.S I want a Christmas present too.
