It's interesting seeing people defending poor practices as it only gives companies the idea that it's "okay" to charge extra for a product
As long as DLC isn't unfairly priced, made during the development of the original product and isn't released on day one then it is not a poor practice.
Again, what's your point? When buying IGTM you get a full stand-alone documentary (and extras) for a fairly normal price. Where the heck is something "not working" and needs to be "fixed"? It is a complete product. What you say makes no sense at all.
That's what I think when I read your post. Have you even seen the movie and/or the DLC? Or do you just see that a MOVIE has a DLC and did that make you angry?
It was actually this, but I think I've received enough counter-arguments to lay down instead.
Y'know how "Special Edition" DVDs have a second disc with more extras than are on the main feature disc?
This DLC is that disc. Some of us like watching those extras. If you don't, then you can just get the main feature version. ...or neither, if you so choose. Making it available as a separate DLC purchase is actually something they can do better than physical movie retailers, as now those of us who got the standard edition can pick up the special edition content without buying a whole other copy of the movie.
Unlike $15 map packs, this is actually a reasonable use of the DLC system.
I'd buy a map pack over paying for this 4gb movie any day.
Would it be the other way round if the movie was 8GB?
