DLC Stupidity
I reviewed the original movie via other sources, namely iTunes. So why would you bolt this on as DLC, its recorded footage in its own right. A crass and ill thought out business model. I guess i will seek it from other sources now and rightly so.

i was already amazed by the price of this 'movie'

and then to see it has a DLC

and by its price

oh god
Honestly it is not the price, but the fact that if i want to view the DLC here then i need to purchase the original movie via steam (which i have already seen). Hand on heart it is without doubt one of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ daftest business models i have ever had the displeasure of seeing here in my near 10 years on steam.

Hi Boris,

Sorry to hear about the frustration. However, the Special Edition DLC is available as a completely stand alone purchase over on our website as well for $4.99.

No re-buying of the film required. The DLC model makes sense within the Steam setting, but naturally, we know it's not perfect for everyone - which is why we have options :)

Head over to www.indiegamethemovie.com and check it out. It's pretty prominently featured all over the site (and mentioned within the trailer and all our press material)

Thanks for watching the movie, and for your interest in the Special Edition content.

Take Care,

James
It's quite an affordable price for the amount of content that is on offer, and the type of content (very honest, private moments with some leaders in the field of indie game development).
I just bought the special edidition from your website. No way to watch it at it's entirety? I was under the impression it was a documentary i bought, not a bunch of clips =/
I watched this on Netflix (and it's still available for instant streaming) not too long ago. It's good that you can buy the "DLC" individually from their website if you'd rather not pay the extra $10 for a movie you can watch for free.

It's not really "free". You're paying a monthly subscription fee to Netflix.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I shall head on over to the website and purchase the additional footage.

I'm sorry, but I call foul on this. Why does it make more sense to sell it as DLC on Steam when you have it standalone from another source? Why not give it a linked name, such as IGTM: Afterthought/Aftertouch/whatever you want, sell it standalone, and then set up a franchise package that includes IGTM?

I'm not going to pretentiously claim truth, but between the trading cards, achievements/DLC achievements, and DLC sale tactic, this feels more like an attempt to psychologically boost sales through the "completionist" mentality, similar to theories behind "first one free" achievements.

This tactic makes me sick, makes me wish I had never gotten IGTM in a humble bundle, and to an extent proves DLC Quest's point.

It proves no point aside from the one that you're being ridiculous - like everything else on this service, no-one is forcing you to buy anything.

"none is forcing you to buy" is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb argument

This.

If anyone does not like the movie, or does not like certain sales practices, or just can't afford the dlc right now, or for whatever other reason, just don't buy it.
Yea, dlc for a movie I already bought at full price, not cool.

You already got what you paid for. If this dlc had never shown up you would have presumably been satisfied with your purchase since you agreed to the exchange of a certain amount of money for a specified product. You got that product.

This is a different product. Not sure what you have to complain about.
