Unbalanced matches!!
I fully admit: I'm a noob. But that's usually OK, since good games put you against people of your own level of skill, so we can all learn together.
I've been playing for around 5 hours today, for the first time, and most of the time the matchup was good. But the most recent games I've had the misfortune of having the entire fun sucked out of game by being against a guy more than TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY LEVELS above my own.

I really can't see the fun in a situation like this. It's certainly not fun for me being killed again and again by the exact same guy, who I can't seem to touch, and shouldn't be fun for him either. Where's the challenge? It's like a black belt who goes punching little kids just because he can!

I think thats the problem with alot of fps games nowadays that there is a serious mis match of skill levels and its not even in GCI its in the more popular titles like black ops and Modern warefare i think fps games should make match ups based on ur skill level
You're right. It becomes a real problem also when you have bonus and advantages over other players due to having bought the DLC weapons and power ups.
Exactly I mean you take black ops 2 New DLC with the new gun people that cant afford the pack are at an extreme disadvantage
GCI doesnt have enough players to do match ups based on skill, and you can unlock almost everything without paying for it so once you play for a while it all balances out.
"you can unlock almost everything without paying for it so once you play for a while it all balances out." - you mean after you've played for 50 hours?
Sorry should have said "anything." You dont need everything unless you like to switch classses a ton. I had my main class set after reaching about level 12, which took about an hour, and I havent changed it since (Now level 167) So I am using the same equipment that a relative newcomer has access to.
I believe you, but in my case it's been quite different: I've been playing for 8 hours and I'm still on level 18. I'm certainly in the noob part of the curve, but we noobs exist too, that's all I'm saying. I don't think I have acess to the same stuff you do.
right the whole thing about getting to level 12 in an hour is mince am sorry but theres no chance u made it to that level in an hour atleast have the common decency to admit the truth lol me and a mate have been playing it nearly ever night for a week for about 8 hours solid and i'm only level 8 or something and the mods cant be accessed by all the ones who want to buy the mods are at the most advantage therefore people like me are at a disadvantage
Me and a good friend have been playing GCI for about a week now nearly every night and we are still only under level 20, The Mods accessible to most players yes level the playing field but higher levels will Infact have more mod or over powered weapon options than someone starting out So i have to agree with quarternog Developers have to realise that This game althought wasnt popular at first will have develpoed a noob following the F2P option
Oh. Guess im not a noob then lol it wasnt a problem for me
This thread hurts my brain. GCI is all about how you spend your unlocks. Some weapons, don't bother unlocking cause well, they suck. The #1 ranked player in TDM/Overall has not bought a single item. Advantages from DLC? Really, you get 3 more loadouts from the ultimate imposter pack, the weapons stay unlocked, even after accepting promotion and you get a coin and xp boost. Wooo. A good level 50 can easily rock a high level... This game isn't CoD kiddies, if you are looking for something that is as mindless as "Find guy, shoot guy" I'd say look elsewhere. GCI is amazing for the insane loadouts and the fact EVERYTHING IN THE game has a counter. If you aren't leveling fast enough I'd suggest hitting the GCI wiki and researching Psych profiles. That is how you level faster.
Oh side note. There really is no autobalance. The MM just kinda shuffles players around, but there is no sort of balance. I can assure you of that. But you improve from playing better players, beating down noobs all the time does nothing for ya. If it makes you feel better, the route this game is going, it will be dead after too long, and the bad bad higher levels won't be able to hurt you ever again.
The only complaints we should be hearing about are how badly the game needs dedicated servers, and a higher population. Anything else, like "unbalanced matchmaking/weapons" is just QQ (IMO).

The game prety much resets your items and characters every 100 levels so not that much of a level difference
I'm downloading it now so obviously im a noob XD if this is what happens it wont be very fun for people who DONT read this and it happens to them plus it doesn't make it any better for me either
