How do i play local co-op?

I got the game so i could play local co-op with my brother but i can't seem to figure out how i can play with me on the keyboard and my brother using an F310 gamepad.Can't find a single solution on the internet.

you need 2 controller's plugged in to use player 2, having the keybaord and 1 controller wont work, they both register as player 1. if you have 2 controllers plugged in 1 of them should register as player 2. Start a game as normal, on the character select screen press start with player 2 controller.

If you have two xbox controllers, have the second player hit "start" when player one is trying to decide which character to play as.
