Crashes on exit!

I have to log out the users to clear the game, demo worked ok and would exit. the full package crashes and there seems some glitch on USB sounds, which were not evident on the demo!

This happens to me too. Every time I quit the game, Rocksmith will not exit cleanly. I have to restart my machine to clear it. End Task will not even exit it.

Does anyone have any solutions for this, please?

to save rebooting I use the option to log off the user. Game has crashed on every exit today, but windows manages to auto kill it at the moment, yesterday I had to do the log user off to exit it

HI ! i have exactly the same problem as you. when i quit the game, it crashes and I have to reboot my pc. i'm running on windows 7 home premium 64bits. my pc is a asus g55 laptop. i hope the problem isn't my laptop. If anyone has a solution it could be very helpful :)

What happens if you run the game in windowed mode and use the X to quit. still crashes?

Yeah I'm getting this too, nearly every time. I've had to restart my entire computer twice, task manager won't even let me get rid of the process.

It is best to try and close the program by the menu, As you can loose data if the code is flaky on just dumping it.

Mine does this
(1) on closing a popup arrears, windows error? do u want windows to try and fix "YES"
(2) Then I get the option to dump it after the fix fails. If I say no to fix the thing locks up!

Haqo is your 'mine does this' by using the menu to exit or were you testing using the X?, I am not sure

yes I am sure it is best to use the menu to exit, though I have been closing mine with the X since day 3 when I realised I could save going through all the menus to exit, the game saves after you select 'continue journey' so I make sure to do that before I exit, unless I am just mesing about in guitarcade and dont care about saving my score

edit 7 hours later: how ironic that I was trying to help you guys but now I may have the same problem! I had not played for 8 days, played yesterday and it crashed on exit (no stuck process luckily) I just thought it was a one off so ignored it, but today it crashed twice on exit as well, it's not happening 100% of the time like some on here have mentioned and my proces does not get stuck so hopefully it is a different problem

As I said I had not played for 8 days, so has there been a patch or something? because I never had any sort of crash at all before

hey. I waited a few days for an update that would solve the problem. And now when I quit the game it doesn't crash anymore. I don't know if an update has been released but anyway I don't have any trouble anymore :) I hope it's the same for you

I randomly get crashes, sometime's it does not happen, sometimes it just crashes the game, sometimes it has some horrible crash and I have to restart my computer.

Started happening for me too today, also cable randomly stops working, I plug it back in and it works again. Then when I exit it doesn't exit properly. I have to log off / force restart via the power button. :(

@dav3 I've also had this happen.
Even tried switching to a different graphics chip (I have an NVIDIA Geforce GT 540M and Intel HD 3000) no success, can't even dump process or end-task.

It's a big cop-out saying laptop models aren't supported; they can handle everything the PC Desktop counterparts can.

Great game but this issue needs fixing.

Having the same problem here on my brandnew gaming-pc. Windows can however kill the process, though it takes a while. I guess it just needs massive amounts of time to end out of itself.
On my 2010 Alienware netbook I have no problems at all, apart from an occasional hickup (during multiplayer with an extra monitor attached). This game should run well enough on current laptops (maybe not the cheapest model).

Maybe you should try this : when you click the button to exit the game and it ask you if you're sure, wait 3 seconds then exit the game.

Im getting these issues too. The cable not working / lag was due, for me, to firefox memory leak eating up lots of ram. The white screen on crashes i dont know about, but every time i reboot or log off i hear an error warning right before it closes. If only there was a way to tell whats going on with it.
