Rocksmith won`t close
Everytime I tries to close rocksmirh, the game freezes. Then I press ctrl, alt and delete and tries to close it from taskmanager. Then its just says the program doesnt answer and the result I have to restart the pc. Does anybody have the similar experience and have a solution?

I am not sure if this will work, but i will try and help.
when you want to exit the game, hold CTRL and press ESC. after that you should of had gone to your homescreen, when you are at your homescreen, right click the rocksmith tab at the bottom of your screen and click close window.
i always do that when something doesnt close.
hope it helped.

Some good ideas in here, but they're all just "covering the symptom". You might have to reinstall "something". As for that "something", I'd start at reinstalling Rocksmith, if that doesn't fix it, reinstall Steam (and then ALL your games :( )... then this escalates until you're reinstalling the whole OS... which may or may not be possible by you or a major PITA. I would at least try reinstalling Rocksmith (which reminds me... did you "verify integrity of the game cache"?... do that first).

First application I've been unable to kill by ANY means, aside from rebooting the machine.

edit: Also, happens every single time.

happens to me sometimes. i noticed when i scroll really quickly to the exit game button and press it quickly it does this but when i take my time it closes fine.

Also pressing ctrl alt del / alt f4 / ctrl esc / task manager does not let you close the program either.

Instead of doing a reboot of the machine tho I press log off and log back on which does close the program and steam. Just a little quicker than doing a full reboot.

Same here. won't close even with task manager as it just goes back to Rocksmith screen. can't get in to options.

It happens to me if I've played Scale Runner. Otherwise the game exits cleanly.

Alt-F4 does not always work in the game so I sometimes use "Ctrl-Shift-Esc" to open the Task Manager and then right-click on the Rocksmith tab to force-close the game.

I'm having the same issue with my Rocksmith, can't seem to fix it. I've even tried installing it on a separate computer and it does the same thing. Mine also makes the screen resolution go weird at any point whilst playing just on the primary monitor.

I can CTRL+ALT+DEL and try to end process but it takes ~5 minutes for it to finally kill the process.

I've gotten this randomly also, but the frequency seems to be reducing. I did notice that it was more likely to happen when i accidentally bump the shift key while pressing enter on the "are you sure you want to exit" screen (shift+enter being the command to switch from full screen to windowed mode). I guess trying to switch the window mode and exit at the same time breaks it.

I haven't had it happen for a while, but it seemed as if it would happen if I left the game idle for too long. Performance would tank, sometimes it would stop recognizing notes even though I could hear them, etc.
Even if I successfuilly killed the application, careful observation would reveal one CPU core pegged, locked up on "ntoskrnl.exe!KeReleaseInStackQueuedSpinLock+0x1e0" - only a reboot would solve it.

Knocking on wood here, but it hasn't happened for some time for me.
