What problems do you have? Are you played guitar before, or you're just started with Rocksmith?
Try strumming any chord and practice lightly resting the palm of strumming hand near the bridge, you find it takes very little pressure to mute the chord sound. You can also try resting your little finger on the guitar body and gripping the pick closer to the tip to give yourself better control.
Yes, it's the worst. It's one of the only techniques I consistently can't get. For the Titus Andronicus song, I did it perfectly, but for the Spoon song (Me and the Bean), it just wouldn't take. The only thing I can say is, if you place your palm on it, pluck the string, and it doesn't sound similar to the original sound, you're doing it wrong. Probably not very helpful. :/
thanks guys i'll try that hand placement, maybe i was pressing to hard so ill try to put as little pressure as possible and see, i bought Barricuda and started it up and i saw a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of palm mutes and i just shut it off haha
Palm mutes are fine, its harmonics that are impossible for me.
Just don't palm mute, play it normally.
I agree - I hate them. I try all different amounts of pressure, and it almost always says "palm mute missed"...

Are you sure your guitar is completly ajusted fine?

And by ajusted, i'm not talking to only correctly tuned.

Are you sure your guitar is correctly ajusted and in good shape? Sometime it can affect this!
haha, I love palm mutes compared the horrible bends in the Cliffs of Dover solo's :'(
It's by far the most easy technique , just place your palm on your strings and thats it :"")

For my acoustic guitar, I needed to turn the Tone Cable micrphone volume very high in Windows (and Rsmith still misses some of my p-mutes).

Palm Mutes will only register as "missed" if you miss the note. Try playing the note normally and you'll see the game registers it. If you're playing the note right, but still getting "palm mute missed" as a message, you've muted the sound too much and the core note isn't registering.

Basically, to get the percussive sound, you just want to deaden the string so it doesn't keep vibrating after the strike, without changing the note itself. Using your fretting finger to damped the string can work...

Harmonics are pretty accurate; if you're having problems it's probably down to your guitar's intonation being poorly adjusted. That said, the arcade game's a pain, as it will routinely pick up on the previous harmonic being played and thus mis-register the notes - make sure you mute the strings between hitting them, or lower input volume.

Remember, your finger lightly touches the vibrating string directly above the metal fret bar you are playing.

My bass is a piece of ♥♥♥♥, no hope for me on harmonics, lol. Palm mutes work fine though, I just rest my fingers on the bottom of a pickup, lay the back of my hand across the strings and strum with my thumb.

spiggy, look on YouTube for demonstrations of making a harmonic on the 12th fret (the octave) on a guitar. I just started playing guitar and I would never have been able to figure out how to do this without a couple *good* vids!

Search terms could include "guitar setup" and "intonation" as one of the easiest ways to check the intonation of any guitar is to tune a string's harmonic, and then match that tuning to itself when fretted. ... Vids will make what I just said a lot more clear. :s
