controller/Gamepad availability

Hi everyone, i'm new to steam and wondering if you can use a controller with this game series or if its exclusively mouse and keyboard/ I am not very good at all on the latter but like the look of these games. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Mouse and Keyboard only, but I used to play it with a wired 360 controller via an emulator called Xpadder 5.3 upto Master difficulty (on all games). I did read the Steam controller is a lot better for making profiles and is more precise, but yet to try, so don't really know if it is true or not.

This is pretty much the only game I play with Mouse/Keyboard combo, I hate M/K combo, I'm a controller guy, but this game, this series, is worth using a mouse and keyboard, it's a bit of a steep learning curve, and I had to do some pretty drastic alternate key mapping, but I'm enjoying the ♥♥♥♥ outta this game, it'll only take ya an hour to figure it all out, and brother is it worth it.

After my second M$ controller gave up the ghost I went full on M/K with my PC games. Yeah after beating Stalker series numerous times on controller without any aim assist these games are pee easy on M/K now.
