nvm , solved it with compability mode... Looks like RCR don't like win8

Works fine in Windows 8 for me with no nonsense.
Sounds like you got a bogus install going on.

Same error here!
Having updated from the rather old Nvidia Driver Version 310.90 to Version 331.58, the game stopped working and showed the error linked above. Compability mode doesn't affect the error in any way for me.
EDIT: Now being back to Version 310.90, it works again. You might want to try a newer or older Version of your graphics driver.
