Stupid game sees my pc's joystick as an XBox Controler.. Anyway to fix???

This stupid game sees my Saitek x52 joystick as an XBox controller, so when the game runs it gives me all the XBox contoller command messages! Press X, or press >... The only way I can get the normal 'pc' messages to show up is to disable my x52 and reboot before I play this stupid game. I posted a bug with the developers, but they basically said for me to just Suck it up.

Does anybody know of a fix for this???
