Exiting the game

Hi everyone,

I just have a small problem that whenever I try and exit the game the game freezes and I have to open task manger. The are you sure you want to quit comes up and I press enter and it simply freezes. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if there is a simple soultion. Great game though, awesome that its from Poland :)

♥♥♥♥ since the new patch today I can't even start the game, it say's COJ Gunslinger has stopped responding, close program or check for online solution, I have re-installed 4 times now and performed all the tricks the game devs suggested and no luck. so I'm sure your SOL also.

I didn’t have any other problems before or after the patch except for the exiting one. Yeah I've heard of a few other problems but luckily I haven’t had any with crashing or not being able to start. I’m sure they'll release some more patches to get rid of the bugs.

I have the same problem i click exit in game and it freezes I ctrl alt del to bring up windows options i cancel to get to desktop and the game is still running in task manager pain in the neck !!! frozen on exit................................

I had a "... encountered a problem and has to be closed" message on exit (Win XP SP3).

I’ve been having this problem a bit less frequently and I found that it occurs more when a steam download is happening in the background. Not sure if it’s related though, could just be a weird glitch. I had the game running in task manager for ages without knowing and racked up heaps of gameplay time haha.

Could you check if any minidump files have appear in "\steamapps\common\coj gunslinger", if so, can you send us this file.

Please, rung game with "/verbose" switch (right click on game in steam library -> properties -> General -> Set launch options). This will create log file, that will be placed in "%localappdata%\techland\cojgunslinger\out\logs". This log can help us resolve this problem.

Also, can you tell us if you have any programs running when launching the game (especially any screen capture program, programs attached to driver card).

It will be very helpful.

OK hey i posted something might help I matched my game resolution to my desktop resolution and enabled sync vertical option? or what itis?? and I have not had any problems since with the game exiting and it was terrible before that I has my game resolution way down compared to desktop settings when i matched em up it closed just fine steam could be closed everything is running sweet I hope that helps you!!!!

i havent had this problem for a few days now, not sure why though. Ill post the log files if I have the problem. I havent had any minidump files in the folder yet. I havent used any screen capture programs, however a few times I have used MSI afterburner OSD. Thanks for the response.

I recently had the problem again and had the verbose switch running. A log file was made but im not sure how to post it as it is over the maximum characters for comments. Any help would be great, thanks.

Same issue - freeze on exit. Then if I try to play something else I get a fatal error message.

At first, please verify integrity of game cache in Properties --> Local file.
If it doesn't work please send us a log file and dxdiag raport.
For log file you have to run game with "/verbose" switch (right click in game in steam library -> general -> set launch options). The log file will be placed here: %localappdata%\techland\cojgunslinger\out\logs.

It will be very helpful!

I experience this when I use my mouse to confirm "exit game." If I press Enter on my keyboard it works fine, strange.
