I was looking at Lead and Gold but that's dead so is this game any better?

I have played it on console, and really enjoyed it.

It is completely different from Lead and Gold though, Lead and Gold is a multiplayer focused game while COJG is single player focused.

Probably the best western FPS arround. Great story, great music, option to upgrade your character, challenging gameplay and fully implented to Steam - cards, achivements, scoreboards. You will not regret it, I played trough twice and could start anytime again.

At only $5, you're stealing from Techland.

It's longer and more in-depth than any $15 (regular price) game has the right to be, and after playing it I would have felt good spending $40 to $50 on it.

At $5, this is a no-brainer, even without MP.

Yes. Not really deep into it, but it's a blast. Worth 5 bucks twice.

Narrator is fantastic, too. Plot device is clever and unique (for a video game).

I played this game on the PC for about 2+ hours and I played it on 360 for about 3 hours. The game is absolutely excellent. If you heard negative things about previous Call of Juarez games it is very understandable to be cautious about this game, because older CoJ games, while very fun, do have a lot of problems.

This game is somehow very different and has no faults of previous games. In fact, aside from the wild west theme, this game seems to be an entirely rebuilt brand new game which probably was made by a different team.

Gunslinger resembles a standard shooter, at first, but it is done very well and it looks very good. The focus is on accuracy, efficiency of weapon usage, scoring lots of points, and some tactics.
The AI is not special or anything, but the few tricks that it does are effective. Primarily it is good use of cover by the ai as well as what seems like "group tactics". The enemies won't just hide and shoot at predictible intervals. It seems there is some alternation between enemies when there is more than one. The game is very replayable as well because of the difficulty, different perks, and leaderboards.

Aside from gameplay, the way the game is presented, and some graphics tricks are very clever and funny. I am actually interested in the story. Voice acting is much better than any previous CoJ as well. Describing it in more detail can serve as a spoiler.

To summarize, check that besides the gamers , there are also many positive critic reviews for Gunslinger. For $5 you cannot go wrong.
