Black Screen on Startup

It's still happening it seems, a black screen on startup. I have almost 80 hours clocked and up to this point the game ran fine, went to play it today and all I see is a black screen. The game is apparently running as I can hear sound, but there is no video to go with it. I would install a different version of windows media player but windows 7 64 bit isn't supported according to microsoft, and I tried all the compatibility modes with visual themes and desktop composition disabled. I verified the game cache, reinstalled three times...I am stumped, I have no idea what to do now.
