Where you're getting this insta kill stuff is beyond me.
Edit: oh. I guess I should mention this since you're new but the meta in awesomenauts is heavy burst.
Ted is not bad at all when you learn how to deal with him. Same with Penny, and she falls hard late game. Skree is the only one I feel is op, and compared to how op some other nauts have been he still isn't bad.
The 'commando dude' has a MAX damage of 69 (89 with dot) and as you say is easy to dodge. He also has very low health comparative to his size, speed and manoeuvrability plus has no escape ability.
The 'droid' (sentry) needs to absorb that damage in order to dish it out. See when he has what looks like a shield up? The damage that he takes then can be fired back. Also the hole is fairly easy to dodge and it's gravity has been severely nerfed. See the purple bar under his health? if you can see that be wary of a black hole.
The 'shaman' (skree) has a relatively low burst. You get hit with burst ONLY when it is traveling. He can only shoot it HORIZONTALY.
The 'assassin fox' (penny) Has been nerfed to oblivion. She too has a puple bar under her health which she fills by hitting things. She can do anything to you without it.
Once you understand how they work you will be fine
Skree is very strong, hes faster then most awesomenauts and his attack is hard to dodge and his saw blade is extremely devastating if you get caught by it.
Yup true, but he has to take damage himself in order to deal it. Like I said, watch out for that purple bar unter his health, if there is on be wary
IMO...I - M - O...Skree's aa is overpowered. It doesn't do incredible damage, but it seeks targets, has a fast fire rate when upgraded, can slow when upgraded, and is capable of hitting you when there are multiple targets. This, on top of his very quick speed, even when firing his aa, is a little absurd. Of course, everyone will say "Teamfight!" Yes, of course, the solution to everything. This is partially true because he is fairly squishy, but the more talented skrees i've seen will just escape using totem and then finish your chasing *** off with the saw. Saw isn't terrible. I just really wish they'd nerf its seeking ability or cut skrees speed slightly. I'd rather see the first. Again, i'm not saying he is broken as all hell, but IMO a little nerfing would be nice. He is more balanced, at release, than the other starstorm nauts were.
Yeah...that kind of mentality on the forumns is getting old. I understand that it is often true...but often isn't always.
Pretty much all "this naut is OP" statements are born out of ignorance. The more you play the more you will learn how to deal with them and what to watch out for.
I used to have similar feelings as I'm sure did virtually everyone playing this game. However the minute I played as that char I thought was OP I revised my opinion. The problem is you cant do that with startstorm so you have to figure it out from the other side. You will in time, dont worry :)
The one thing I will openly criticize you on is your exaggeration of their power. The highest damage attack amongst the starstorm nauts is Sentry's Black Hole Sun ability. With all the upgrades purchased and a fully charged BHS, he can do 118 damage (129? with Starstorm Statue). The lowest health naut is Froggy G with 115 health.
Health increases on a set timer to a certain extent. I believe it's once every 2 minutes, but I could be wrong. Never cared enough to look into it. Anyways, past the first health increase, BHS, even at max damage (excluding Starstorm Statue), is no longer capable of 1shotting Froggy G. There's also no way in hell Sentry is going to get a fully charged BHS with all the damage upgrades early game. If he is, your team deserves to die for feeding him that damage.
Ted Mcpain has already been covered above. Airstrike has a maximum damage of 69 + 20 dot.
Penny's Pulse caps at 62 damage, and her Pounce caps at 45.
Skree's sawblade is small, unless the size upgrade is picked up. I guess it's kind of become mandatory because of its potency. Skree can burst for 76 damage if he hits you with the sawblade both when it's going out and returning. While it's true that it does a sizeable amount of damage while it's sitting in the air, it's also completely stationary.
TL;DR opinions are fine, but you're way overexaggerating things. None of the Starstorm nauts can 1shot you. Neither can any of the base nauts.
And I didn't mean they actually 1 shot you -_- I just said that they do that kind of damage, they can chase you down and kill you after they've hit you with any of their abilities
Clunk's Explosion, Lonestar's Dynamite, Leon's backstabing abilities, Froggy G's Tornado and splash attack, Coco's Ball, Gnaw's Spit and Weedlings, Swiggins trapping abilities, Ayla's Evil eye, Yuri's mines, Skolldir's combo, Raelynn's Snipe, Vinnie and Spike's Spike Dash, Voltar's Suicide Drones.
Infact the only one that doesn't have any form of powerful abilty really is Genji, who has one for stopping chasers and a buffing one.
Also if you get killed by Derpl's nuke after being damaged it's not a 1 shot then is it?
