Best graphics of 2012...
As for the game its just walking around a realy nice looking island with no interaction at all just some random comments by the narator. If you want a "game" this is not for you

Graphics is ok, but it isnt optimized. Maps are small, but performance is awful. Everyone can use high resolution textures, but not everyone can develop good looking game that runs good on modern pc's.

This ran with out any problems on my 5 years old low end laptop on the max settings...

Because maps are very small.

But I must agree, graphics is the best. It looks very realistic unlike most modern games. The developer really knows how do things look like, while most of other developers make games that full of unrealistic shaders. But again the maps are small and you cant really explore this island. I love this island and atmosphere, it looks beautiful and I would like to see the whole island, just walk around it and enjoy views, but I cant because it isnt an island, but a set of small maps.

The graphics are average. Only part that I thought were exceptional were the caves. Rest are average.

have you ever been to Britain and the islands around it? This is insanely close to what it actualy looks like. Im not talking about the technical side of the graphics. Its about the atention to detail and hand crafted world
i though this game was good. story, setting, graphics and all!

The graphics are okay, but not the best definitely.
The caves part looks much like the caves of Skyrim, but have worse graphics.
The external parts are too subpar to Far Cry 3 (and Skyrim of course).
Dear Esther is a beautiful game, but don't reward it with qualities that it doesn't have.

And Far Cry 3 looks totaly different. I prefere a hand crafter small area to a huge generator created area with some hand placed objects. That is why the jungle in Crysis still looks a lot better than the jungle in Far Cry 3 in my opinion
