Application aborted

Cannot create device: hr=8876086C (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL)

This is the message i get when i try to start the game...am i doing someting wrong? or how can i fix this?

i don't relly know what to tell you but the only way i got it to work again was by formatting my old pc....(wich was 10 years old) now i finally made a new one and the problem does not exist here
