I also greatly dislike the ridiculous amount of backtracking in this game. The combat is good though, very responsive with a game pad. Uber smart AI, which I freaking love. Quite a thrill healing at only 10 hp :>
Oh and about the quitting stuff, I'm afraid it's true, the developer LizSoft is a one-man studio, after he released Fortune Summoners he quit because he didn't get enough money to turn the game-making business into a career. Considering Recettear was awesome and Chantelise was so-so, it's pretty sad.
Yeah man, I agree with you. And yeah, that is really sad :(
Chantelise was god awful.. abysmally bad controls and camera even with a gamepad.
