Keyboard does not work at ALL

[Guardian ZET]

Tried pressing Z to draw my sword, nothing. Rebinded the draw sword button to A, nothing.
Is there something I'm missing here? I tried to use a controller at first which seemed worst since all the character does is run and roll. Meanwhile on the keyboard she won't run at all and won't draw her sword.

I have never been more confused if a keyboard or a controller is better for a platformer in my life.
