temporaly hkship.exe error problem solve for who cant play the game yet

i hope this can help some people that still cant play or has no idea how to solve the problem..first you need to find HKSHIP.exe on sleeping dogs files then click run program compatibilty mode for win 7 or vista etc then make sure run this game as an admin mode..after that you can go into the menu etc..click start/new game at the loading screen it will stuck but no worry..you guys need to wait at least for 15min then the game will start..hope this will help some of you guys

HKShip.exe in the (steamApps/common/SleepingDogs)The program cant start because D3DCOMPILER_43.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the sleepingdogs to fix this problem. I Have tryed to install it 4 times with no luck .. help plz.. I have try all above from SyN and i allways run in admin but without the dll you HAVE NOTHING..

hmm you maybe need to install the directx files from the game disc.before i found this solution i alredy install redist from game disc and also uninstall/reinstall my gpu drivers but i think for me the problem only need to wait 15min..you should try reinstall the directx/redist files

yeah the problem cuz your D3dcompiler files are missing..need to install the latest microsoft directx..that should fix the problem

I bought Sleeping Dogs yesterday (PC) - and my machine is top of the line XPS with GeForce GTX 260.
I have followed every instruction (for hours) on how to start the game, and nothing so far works. It stoppes at a white loading screen saying "HPShip.exe has stopped working".
I wrote to Steam that I rather have my money back so I can go to Game Stop or similar to buy the game - and play. Cos I also bought Max Payne 3 in June - and can not play still - same for many many people.

Anyways... the HPShip.exe is the directX this is the problem, just install a new DirectX and it must be verified.
Minimum: OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Althon X2 2.7 GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card, ATI Radeon 3870 or higher, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher.
It has nothing to do with steam.

Well the first link was kind of a dead end, but found a directx webinstaller and I am trying to install that now. The second link was totally useless....what the heck do i do with a presentation of Microsoft for "Gamefest 2010"??

yeah wrong link mate, was bizzy helping 4 other people.. lol http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 my problem, it was the dll in the directx.. so i installed the http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dcompiler_43 it sorted it out. anyways i was surprized to see how many dll had probs.maybe this will help when all, fail.

well your problem sounds like outdated driver for your nvidia card.... nv****.dll are usually nvidia driver files...

if its a dll file ... just go to http://www.dll-files.com/ and replace it. and Narion i did have. but i replaced the dll file .. i allso know why, and it was microsoft update that changed it.. anyways I have no problems i can play the game:)my hkship.exe error is no more. fixed with dll fix.

Lucky for you...replaced the dll file, updated all drivers and os, directx, microsoft visual runtimes, tried different graphic options, with vsync, without, whatever i try it doesnt help...i get stuck at this darn loading screen....even when i wait for 30mins its still in this screen...i did a cache verify 3 times and even an bios update....never had that much trouble with a game
