How do you use the camera phone?

I've pushed every button on my Xbox controller and every key on my keyboard, but I can't seem to use the camera ability on my in-game phone. How am I supposed to do this?

You press up on dpad to bring up phone and then press the left bumper, or the trigger, I forget exactly! xD Then press something to take the picture. I hope that was vague enough! xD

But the thing is, I'm pretty sure you can only use the camera phone during missions. So if you're trying it outside of one, that would be the reason it's not working.

the camera can only be used in certain missions and even the it does not save any photos,they are just just uploaded to hkpd. understood the concept after almost 26 hours of gameplay WHEW!

Thanks. It was so frustrating to no be able to use the camera when I clearly remember the controls for it from an earlier mission.
