Q&A for April 14 Update

Greetings Wizards!

With Escher out on adventures on Rainy Island, I'm temporarily stepping in and helping communication around our new update for Wizard Wars. Please do not hesitate to ask any additional questions and I'll answer to my best ability.

• Will there be a Level/Gear/Crowns Reset? No!
  
  
• Why have I increased in level? Due to the rebalancing necessary for the new patch some particularly high-level players may have found themselves bumped up a little.
  
  
• Will having an existing item late in the Mastery tree unlock items before it? No, but it will count as a full slot in the tree, so makes completing branches faster overall.
  
  
• Do I get locked to a path when choosing in the Mastery Tree? No you do not, you can sprinkle Mastery Tokens wherever you wish.
  
  
• This UI is too zoomed in for my liking, what’s up with that? Next patch will (hopefully) allow you to zoom in and out to get a better view of the tree. Unfortunately we had some issues getting it in in a stable manner for this build.
  
  
• How do I get my first Mastery Tokens? Play a 4v4 game, or alternatively, we gave you 65 Tokens for free to play around with!
  
  
• Do I "lose" anything for the switch-over to Gold Crowns as the primary currency for all items? No you do not, the net value per crown should be the same as prior to the patch, it just means that there are no "premium" only customers. If you put the work in, you can get any item you wish.
  
  
• How do you guys make money? We will provide boosters and consumable items for those that wish to speed up their path to power.
  
  
• What happened to all of my crystals?!? The numbers on your account are recorded, but the UI in the Magicks screen has changed so as not to show them (Magicks are no longer bought with crystals.) Expect to see your crystals present and correct when the Crafting patch hits!
  
  
• When DOES the crafting patch hit? We are conservatively suggesting mid-May for the moment. More news nearer the time!
  
  
• What about the new game mode, Soul Harvest? Launch day! April 28th.
  
  
• What is the new game mode? No details so as not to spoil the surprise, it is though a more "PVE" focused game. Expect more weight on good objective/map control than who has the best 1v1/4v4 skill. Hopefully very new-player friendly, and a whole new type of tactical play for our veterans!
  
  
• Will there be towers? Last-hitting? Creep Waves? No (well, ish), No, No.
  
  
• Consumable Magicks. What are they? These are to allow choice. If you want to plough through one Mastery Tree path you can still use Magicks from other areas. They also allow an element of try-before-you-buy.
  
  
• What do they cost? Prices will be negligible, you can pick some up for just a little Crown investment.
  
  
• Will the net-code changes fix X/Y/Z? This pass has primarily been on hit prediction, this should be most apparent in beams but will also benefit projectiles.
  
  
• What about fixing X/Y/Z?!?!? We aren't done, this is just what has been ready to release so far.
  
  
• I wanted X but this patch only gave us Y! Please see above. :)

Will the game update automatically, or do we require to manually install some things? because the game is asking to update it through steam, but i don't see anything to update it.

The game is currently down. It should update automatically when the update is released.

well i'm not getting any updates, and i cannot enter the game because it's not 'up to date'

Try restarting steam and see if that triggers the update when you hit play.
